Bobby Duncan’s move to Fiorentina from Liverpool last summer has not worked out well for the 18-year-old.
Since moving to Italy, he has failed to make a single appearance for La Viola, being reduced to nine appearances for the club’s youth side. Whilst he has managed four goals in nine appearances, it is clearly not what he planned when he made the switch.
Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?
However, according to James Pearce, he may now be closing in on a move back to England. He is reporting that the ex-Red is set to move on loan to Sunderland in League One.
The Liverpool supporters have been reacting in their droves, and it seems that they have not forgiven him for the way he departed.
The manner of his exit from the Anfield outfit did not go down well – his ex-agent, Saif Rubie, made claims that the Merseyside club had messed with his mental health during his time there – and clearly, they do not want to see him do well.
Other fans, meanwhile, seem to be taking enjoyment out of it.
It does seem a bit harsh considering his young age.
Some supporters have pointed out he could still be with the club and playing for them if he had not made the switch.
Given that the likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have featured heavily in both the F.A Cup and League Cup, it is not too hard to imagine Duncan playing alongside those up-and-coming youngsters.
