Former Manchester United, Aston Villa and Everton star Ashley Young is ending his long career in the Premier League after agreeing a deal to join Ipswich.

Young has spent the majority of his career in England's top flight, but is finally making a step down – albeit perhaps temporarily – to join relegated Ipswich in the Championship.

The 40-year-old has completed his medical to join Kieran McKenna's side, who will be hoping to make the leap straight back up to the Premier League after failing to extend their long-awaited return past a single season. With the experienced Young as part of the squad, there wil be optimism that the Tractor Boys are well-equipped to compete at the top end of the Championship.
