A total of eight Premier League stars have withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their upcoming Nations League encounters.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Cole Palmer, Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka have all pulled out of the squad for the matches against Greece and Ireland over the next week, the Football Association announced on Monday.

Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the 22nd minute of the club's Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Saturday. The defender underwent tests and the reports have revealed he has avoided serious injury, however, the player won't appear for the Three Lions as he still faces a layoff. On Sunday, during the Arsenal and Chelsea clash, Mikel Arteta was forced to sub-off Rice and Saka due to injuries and later the manager provided a worrying update on the duo's condition.

Chelsea star Palmer was seen limping after the Blues' draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, having taken a blow to the knee the previous week against Manchester United, resulting in his withdrawal. Jarrod Bowen, Jarrad Branthwaite, Tino Livramento, James Trafford and Morgan Rogers have all been called up to the team.
