Crystal Palace could be set to move for Nathan Ferguson and Rayan Ait-Nouri, of West Bromwich Albion and Angers respectively, as reported by The Athletic journalist Matt Woosnam.
What did he say?
Crystal Palace have the oldest squad in the Premier League, with their average age currently standing at 29.2.
There will be concerns among many about this particular issue, as it could result in a large turnaround of players being required as star men approach the end of their respective careers.
However, it seems as though Palace may be set to do something about this during the summer, as Woosnam explained: “It’s likely that Palace will revisit the [Nathan] Ferguson and [Rayan] Ait-Nouri deals with West Bromwich Albion and Angers in the summer, and look to bring in a striker, too. It’s not impossible some players may move on. But the positions that will be targeted are primarily those where there is less competition as it stands.”

Exciting prospect
Having these two arrive at Selhurst Park should certainly be seen as an exciting prospect for those involved with the club.
19-year-old Ferguson has played 21 times for the Baggies this term, scoring one goal and assisting another. During his time filling both full-back positions, he has also averaged 2.4 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per game, while making 1.5 dribbles.
Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….
Angers’ Ait-Nouri, who is 18 years old, has made 16 Ligue 1 starts, coming off the bench once, in which time he has provided two assists for his teammates. The Frenchman averages 1.7 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.5 clearances per game from left-back, while making 1.1 dribbles and 0.8 crosses.
With all of the above in mind, not only would moves for the pair help to begin lowering the club’s average age, but it would also see the acquisition of two talented prospects who could go on to have an immediate impact for Roy Hodgson’s side, while also developing over the years.
Meanwhile, FFC writers gave their verdicts about whether Palace should make a summer move for Michy Batshuayi.
